Is my life a better one
When I am in control
Calling You as substitute
When all around me falls
Am I very ignorant
To disregard Your part
Knowing that my apathy
Is breaking Your sweet heart
Does my love of worldly ways
Prevent my growth with You
All Your treasures lay unclaimed
Cause poverty I view
If only I would seek the truth
And take You at Your word
Give the world of satan up
But that would be absurd
So as I wander on the path
To ruinous conclusion
No matter what You try to do
I revel in confusion
I do not want to share myself
With others of Your ilk
Prefer to hide behind my mask
Continue lapping milk.

For years Ive searched
For perfect ways
To reach Your throne of grace
Ive strived and strained
Read loads of books
So I would see Your face
The bibles, I have plenty
All kinds of different versions
But everything is easier
Than long, drawn out, excursions.
My prayer life, just like a list
Expounded every morning
You knew the way that they would go
You must have found them boring
My formula was oh so good
I thought they reached the parts
Just like the beer, they brought You cheer
Like fiery little darts.
But now I have the notion
That I must try much harder
Cast off my jacket that is straight
Start filling up the larder
Bible study is a must
So You I get to know
I need a deep relationship
So that our love will grow.

Eternal magnet, strong to save
Please come quickly to my cave
Draw me gently from my hide
Where I love to sit and bide
Running thoughts across my mind
Some are sinful , some are kind
Battles raging in my head
Mulling over sores that bled
Soothe my injured, battered soul
Tip it in Your mixing bowl
Break it down and add Your Love
Fit my hand into Your glove
Place me back upon the road
Ease this self inflicted load
Dust me off and set my sight
Upon Your ever guiding light.

SPECK
We are but a tiny speck
Among the billions that partake
Upon this tarnished,broken earth
That was created for our sake
A perfect balance was achieved
And everyone was satisfied
Until the devils army rose
To open up a chasm wide.
We are still a tiny speck
One that’s full of power and might
Glowing beacons in the dark
Bringing sunshine to the night
He will come to claim His own
Expecting everyone to hear
The name of Jesus proudly borne
To those who live in constant fear.
So be a Saviour to the ones
Who live and work with you
Let them see the difference
A Christian point of view
You are their only bridge to God
Perhaps they need His aid
To help them change their futile lives
And reap the price He paid.

Whatever is your past experience
Whether perfect,good or bad
There is good news round the corner
There’s salvation to be had
Stop and think of all the heartache
That you’ve caused throughout your life
It is time to turn and face it
Time to end internal strife.
He is knocking,oh so gently
Open up and let Him in
Say that you are really sorry
That you’re going to live for Him
Then you’ll find a transformation
Taking place inside your heart
Changing into what he made you
Loving child who’s set apart.

You start the journey on a high
The Spirit fires your soul
And everything is wonderful
As you head for your goal
But soon your wings run out of wind
You plummet to the ground
The airy, fairy, Christian walk
Is nowhere to be found.
The desert walk begins it’s trudge
You have to be refined
And every major, sinful smudge
Is magnified, you’ll find
But cling on tightly to His hand
And He will lead you through
The minefield that is Christian life
The one that’s meant for you.

Just to be with me, You gave everything
To be like me, You came to earth
You lived my life among humanity
And no one gave You worth
You suffered greatly at the hands
Of those You came to save
And then collecting all our sins
You took them to the grave.
Defeating death and satans grip
You rose to set me free
From all the shackles of this earth
And all infirmity
So that You could be with me
And call me, dearest friend
I am Your special chosen one
Eternally , Amen.

You are wondrous, you are precious
Everything that you should be
I look past your sinful nature
Jesus claimed you on the tree
Maybe you are feeling anxious
Wandered off the narrow road
Do not let the lies defeat you
Come to Me and share your load.
I have things that I need doing
Only you can do your part
Let My Spirit overcome you
Place My strength into your heart
Time is counting down so fast
There’s many who have never heard
About the love that I have for them
Come and spread My precious Word.

Someones knocking at your door
He’s been standing there for years
Hoping that you’ll let Him in
Fighting to control His tears
Because His love for you is vast
He died a dreadful death to give
A chance for you to choose a life
That was designed for you to live.
So look around you, what’s so great
About the world you dwell within
Full of darkness, shame and hate
Submerged inside a pit of sin
He’s the answer to your need
You’ll be changed into a child
Who loves his brother, knows his fate
Cherished, loved and undefiled.

How can I tell You how good I feel
Knowing that my walk with You is real
No longer having to strive and strain
I can relax in Your cleansing rain
Washing me daily of worldly grime
Arms reaching out for that special time
Spent with One who has given all
My strong support whenever I fall
Oh how I long to see Your face
Full of compassion, clothed in grace
You are the One who is worth it all
I patiently await Your call
Cleanse me deeply from within
All the things that cause my sin
Jettison and make me whole
Prepare me for Your heavenly role.
